Q&A for Therapists and Coaches
Tell us a bit about yourself.
My name is Marta — I’m a life coach, mentor, and founder of Soulworking Space, a gentle corner for presence, reflection, and slow transformation. I’m based in Belgrade, but I work online with women from all over the world. I’m most drawn to themes of life transitions, emotional resilience, and quiet inner shifts that come from within.
How long did your education and training take — and what did your path to this profession look like?
Formally — several years. I graduated from the Faculty of Political Sciences, where I studied communication, media, and human systems. Later on, I trained as a certified coach (EMCC), studied psychodynamic dreamwork, and completed various programs centered around body awareness and conscious presence.
Informally — it’s been a lifelong journey. My deepest growth came through transitions, silence, divorce, and beginning again. I often say: what shaped me more than any diploma were the moments when I felt lost — and still chose to return to myself, gently.
How would you describe your general approach when working with people?
Present and soft. I like to work slowly, in the rhythm of the person in front of me. No fixing, no pushing. My question is never “what’s wrong with you?”, but rather “where in you already knows?” I use coaching tools, reflective questions, guided rituals, body awareness, meditation — and sometimes silence. Silence often says the most.
Is there a moment with a client (anonymous, of course) that stayed with you?
Yes. A woman once said, after a long pause: “I’m just so tired of always being the strong one.” Then she added: “Here I am. And that’s enough.” It wasn’t dramatic. It was real. And it marked the beginning of a new relationship with herself.
What do you do when you're stressed?
I slow down. Sometimes literally — I make tea and sit by the window. Sometimes symbolically — I don’t answer immediately, I don’t try to fix. I return to my body, my breath, small things. And I remind myself: whatever I’m feeling — it’s allowed to be here.
What's one small habit that makes a big difference in your everyday life?
Writing one sentence in the morning: “Today I want to be…” Sometimes it’s soft. Sometimes brave. Sometimes quiet. And it helps me return to myself before the day takes over.
What’s one piece of advice you’d give for a lighter, happier life?
You don’t have to have it all figured out. You can begin while still unsure. The act of beginning often opens doors you’d never see while waiting.
What does being part of SupportRoom mean to you?
To me, support should be real and accessible — a place where you don’t need to show up perfectly ready to deserve space. Digital support allows people to say: “I may not be able to get there, but I can still connect.” And that matters.
And now, just for fun:
– Do people assume you can read their minds?
Not always — but they often say, “How did you know how to say that?”
– Do friends ask for advice even when you’re off the clock?
Of course. And I love it — as long as it comes from openness, not an expectation to be fixed.
– Have you ever argued with your partner… and later realised they were kind of right?
Absolutely. And in those moments, I take a deep breath… and make another cup of tea.
